Kanda Ela National Park is one of the fascinadoras destinations in the map of the tourist of Horton Plains. The journey started in the morning so we came there to get tired and gain knowledge. As we pass Nuwara Eliya and head towards the Horton Plains, we first come across the Kanda Ela Reservoir.
As you pass the Kanda Ela Reservoir, you can enter the Kanda Ela National Park, a forested area created by the Forest Department for education. It is a very beautiful and knowledgeable place.I will mention a small part of the knowledge I gained from that place. The park is located at an altitude of more than 1900 m above sea level.Located at a height of over 1900m above sea level, the park has a circular walking path of about 1.5 km where you will be educated on various aspects of re forestation, planting trees, logging, weaving industry, village life and chena cultivation, etc. in different segments. The path is through thick forest cover with life size replicas of people and buildings. The full walk through though would take about 1 – 1.5 hours. If you manage to get a person from the office to walk with you, the you will be able to identify unique trees and plants in the park.It is a very beautiful forest. Moreover, we had a lot of fun and knowledge by visiting that forest.
